Arthur "Dale" Dahlgren

Arthur "Dale" Dahlgren, 66, of La Porte, Indiana and formerly of Elmhurst, Illinois, passed away at 8:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 24, 2010 at his home. He was born April 6, 1944, in Berwyn, Illinois, to Arthur and Ovall (Cusac) Dahlgren.

Mr. Dahlgren was a self-employed graphic artist for 45 years. Dale honorably served in the U.S. Navy in Vietnam. He was a graduate of John Adams High School, South Bend and attended the University of Indiana. Dale was a graduate of the American Academy of Arts, Chicago, Illinois.

He enjoyed camping, fishing and his corvette.

On May 27, 1967, he married the love of his life, Audrey (Fleischhauer) Dahlgren, who survives. Also surviving are his mother, Ovall Dahlgren, of Mishawaka, Indiana; three daughters, Aimee (Vern Johnson) Hatteberg of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, Julie (Michael) Gallagher of Bartlett, Illinois, Linda (Christopher) Strobel of La Porte, Indiana; four sons, Eric (Laura) Dahlgren of San Antonio, Texas, Jason (Jessica Bruno) Dahlgren of La Porte, Indiana, Adam (Lisa Ernst) Dahlgren of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Luke (Nicole) Dahlgren of Bartlett, Illinois; 11 grandchildren; two brothers, Roger Dahlgren of Cassopolis, Michigan, James (Gina) Dahlgren of Niles, Michigan; two sisters, Jane Zuroff of Mishawaka, Indiana, and Barbara (John) Geddes of Indianapolis, Indiana.

His father preceded him in death.

There will be no services. Cremation will take place. Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Road, La Porte, is caring for the arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the pet shelter or humane society of the donor's choice.
