SOUTH BEND - Phillip Walter Jones , 48, of 23rd Street, died of natural causes at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Hospital. Mr. Jones was employed by Memorial Hospital for 30 years.

He was born Aug. 18, 1945, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident. He is survived by his mother, Winifred (VanVactor) Jones of South Bend; two sisters, Elaine Stearly of Mishawaka and Carol Carter of South Bend; and a brother, Arthur of Selma, N.C. He was a member of River Park United Methodist Church.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Hollis-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
