MISHAWAKA - Carolyn Kay Rand (Nemeth), 66, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away at 5:15 a.m. Thursday, April 28, 2011, at St Joseph Regional Med. Center.

Carol was born on May 29, 1945 in South Bend, IN to Wendell and Marie Nemeth. On September 4, 1965, she married Robert P Rand Sr. who preceded her in death in 2010.

Survivors include one son, Robert P. Rand Jr. of Mishawaka, IN; one daughter Tammy S Reihl of Osceola, IN; five grandchildren, Adam Reihl of Beaufort, South Carolina, Nicole (Nixon) Wagoner of South Bend, IN, Kayla Rand of Mishawka, IN, Tiffany Rand of Mishawaka, IN and Amy Reihl of Osceola, IN.

She graduated in 1986 with an Executive Administrative Assistant Associate Degree. She went on to fulfill her career as an Administrative Assistant with the Montessori Academy and retired in 1998. She enjoyed writing poetry, going to the theatre, watching movies and everything about Elvis. She had a heart for those that were hurting and always put others before herself. She was active in youth ministry and children's church. She is a member of the Family Bible Church.

A celebration of Carol's (Nana's) life will be held on April 30, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at Timberland Bible Church 16623 State Road 23 South Bend, IN.
