Hartford City, Ind. -- Dr. Robert F. Lapham, 56, of Langhorne, Pa., died at 4:55 a.m. Friday, Aug. 19, 2005 in Chandler Hall Hospice, Newtown, Pa., after an extended illness.
He was born April 28, 1949, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Edmund F. and Frances K. (Brown) Lapham. He was raised in South Bend, Indiana, and graduated from the University of Michigan, Ball State University, and Duke University.
Dr. Lapham had been a school psychologist for several school systems and had served as director of Clinical Services for the Indiana School for the Deaf, Indianapolis.
He was a member of the Catholic Church and held memberships in many psychology organizations. Surviving are his wife, Harriet (Hoffman) Lapham, who he married June 28, 2003, in Covington, Kentucky; brother, Edmund F. Lapham II (wife, Carolyn); sister, Kathy (Mrs. Peter) Davies; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Ed. Kacena at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 23, in St. Mary's Catholic Church, 2300 W. Jackson St., Muncie. Burial will be at Union Cemetery, Eaton.
Friends may call in the Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 22.
