Laura Ann Ruff, 75, of Bremen, passed away at 4:42 am, Monday June 17, 2024 at the Center for Hospice Care – Raclin House. Laura was born in South Bend, on December 5, 1948 to the late Thomas and Emily (Young) Whalen.

On October 17, 1981 she married Terry Ruff, who proceeded her in death on November 9, 2015. Laura is survived by her siblings: Carol (Jon) Markley of Granger, Joe Whalen of South Bend and Vincent (Margo)Whalen of South Bend. She is also survived by nephews: Christopher Whalen, Stephen (Lauren) Strengberg, and Daryle Whalen and great nieces: Maryella Strengberg and Athena Whalen. Laura is proceeded in death by her parents, husband, sister Mary Cole, and sister-in-law Patty Whalen.

Laura graduated from John Adams High School in 1967.  She retired as a secretary from the Indiana State Police Department-Bremen Post. She was a member of the Bremen VFW Ladies Auxiliary, where she enjoyed volunteering her time at their annual Poppy fundraiser. Per her wishes, cremation will take place and a private family service will be held at later date. Memorials can be made to the Bremen VFW Ladies Auxiliary, 1750 W. Plymouth St., Bremen, IN 46506.
