Robert Charles Cline

Cline, Robert
Robert "Bob" Charles Cline received his wings to heaven on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at his home in San Antonio, Florida, with his wife and family at his side. Bob was born March 13, 1950, to Eunice Margaret Cline and Chalmer Richard Cline in South Bend, Indiana. He attended John Adams High School and graduated in 1969. His next adventure was the U.S. Navy as an EN3 in the engine room. After serving four years, he went to Lincoln Technical Institute in Indianapolis, Indiana, to become a diesel mechanic. Shortly after that, he married his high school sweetheart Karen Lamb. Together they had two boys Frederick Chalmer Cline and Matthew Allen Cline. Bob worked over 15 years at Whiteford's and received the name "Boomer" by shorting out batteries and blowing them up. After the divorce and having a long-distance relationship for two years, Bob married Maria "Coleen" Burch on June 2, 1990, and they moved to Ohio with the boys. He managed a truck shop for over 7 years. Bob was very proud of having the best-looking lawn in the neighborhood. Bob and Coleen traveled over 44 states in an R.V. and over 60 cruises. They both loved to travel, even if just a day outing. They loved each other, soul mates, and best friends. One of Bob's main legacies is helping Rasmussen nursing students learn. His wife, Coleen, taught Pharmacology and Bob came in to play a patient for the students as this was their first clinical exposure to a patient. The students were able to listen to his pacemaker, look at his diabetic skin, touch his scars from surgeries, and other stories about himself. Robert Cline is survived by his spouse, Coleen, San Antonio, Florida; son, Matthew Cline (Christina) from South Bend, Indiana; and grandchildren, Maddie, Allie, and Nathan Cline; sister, Gwen (Tom) from Sylvania, Ohio; and brother, Richard from Stowe, Ohio. Preceded in death by his son Frederick Chalmer Cline (June 2020), first wife Karen Palmer (2010), mother-in-law Betty Burch (Oct. 1997), and father-in-law Charles Burch (Jan. 2012). A celebration of life will occur in September in South Bend, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, donations to Gulfside Hospice would be appreciated. Tammy, Jordan, Abby, and Chaplain Steve are but a few of the excellent staff. Thank you everyone for the prayers, as we will see Bob again in Heaven.
