Phillip D. Reed, of Boulder, Colo., died of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident Saturday, Nov. 6, in Larimer County. He was 53.

The son of Sanger Reed and Janet Spears Reed, he was born Jan. 23, 1951, in Wolf Lake, Ind., and raised in South Bend, Ind.

He married Jeri Martinov in South Bend, Ind., in 1970. They divorced. He married Kim Keech in 1984 in Boulder. They divorced. He married Lydia Young in 1992 in Boulder. They divorced.

Mr. Reed moved to Boulder in 1972.

He graduated from John Adams High School in South Bend, Ind., in 1969 and graduated from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind., in 1972. Mr.Reed was a graphic designer for Communications Arts Inc. in Boulder and for Trapp Associates of Boulder. He enjoyed motorcycles, snowboarding and camping.

Survivors include his parents of Granger, Ind.; three daughters, Kimberly Dapson of Albuquerque, N.M., and Chandler Reed and Leia Reed, both of Boulder; a son, Jett Reed of Boulder; and three sisters, Susan Wise of Tucson, Ariz., Jennifer Shira of Wabash, Ind., and Lynn LaFree of Bristol, Ind.; grandchildren, Michelle and Ashley Dapson of Albuquerque, N.M.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, Nov. 28, at 2 p.m. in the Sunnyside Presbyterian Church in South Bend. A reception will be held immediately following the service.
