David E. Counts

February 10, 1967 ~ January 5, 2024

David E. Counts, 56, of Mishawaka passed away on January 5, 2023. David was born to Patricia (Kaiser) Villanueva on February 10, 1967, in Elkhart, IN. David grew up in the Michiana area and went on to work as a truck driver and later, a forklift operator. David enjoyed working on cars and tinkering in his garage. He was a kind soul that cared deeply for animals of all kinds but most of all his beloved dogs.

David is survived by his children, Elizabeth and Brandon Counts; mother and stepfather, Patricia (Joseph) Villanueva; siblings, Michael (Susie) Schroeder, Daniel Schroeder, Mark Counts, and Shayna (Gerry) Bysiek as well as extended family members and friends.

There are no formal services at this time per David’s wishes. Hahn Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Donations in David’s honor may be made to the Pet Refuge, Inc., 4626 S Burnett Dr, South Bend, IN 46614 or to the Humane Society of St. Joseph County, 2506 Grape Rd, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
