SOUTH BEND - Robert E. Rossner, 65, of South Bend, IN, passed away Thursday, October 13th, in his residence due to an extended illness. Mr. Rossner was born on October 26, 1945, in South Bend, and had resided in the area his lifetime.

On April 13, 1976, in South Bend, IN, he married the former Patricia Bryant, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Michelle L. (Steve) Kovacs of Mishawaka; a son, Shawn R. (Cindy) Rossner of Mishawaka; a sister, Shirley Ann (Robert) Severeid of Granger; and a brother, Charles L. Rossner of South Bend. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Joshua Kovacs and Zachary Rossner, whom he loved and cherished. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar C. Rossner and Delma A. (Powell) Rossner.

Robert loved to collect NASCAR items; he also loved spending time with his grandchildren and being with family, and was an avid Notre Dame fan. He will be dearly missed by his loving family and many friends he made during his life journey. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who always placed his family first. Robert worked in the restaurant business in various jobs over the years.

The family request that all memorial contributions be made to the family to assist with medical bills in care of the funeral home. Visitation hours will be held from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, October 19, at the HANLEY and Sons "Southwest" Chapel Funeral Home, located at West Ireland Road / Indiana 23, South Bend.

A memorial service will follow at 7 PM with Pastor Ervin Mize officiating. Cremation has taken place. The HANLEY & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home handled arrangements and extends its deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to the Rossner family.
