Rodney Allen Grindeland

EDWARDSBURG - Rodney A. Grindeland, 63, of Edwardsburg, passed to his rest Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, in the Veterans Hospital of Ft. Wayne, after an illness.

He was born July 3, 1947 in Decorah, IA, the son of Merlin Wolford and Doris Loraine (Dahlen) Grindeland. Rodney attended John Adams High School, South Bend and graduated from there. He had worked for Gates Chevy in the parts department. He entered the Air Force in 1966 and served until 1970 in the Vietnam War. He was a Sgt. when discharged.

Rodney is survived by his sister, Diana (Jay) Greenwood of Granger, IN and Diana and Jay's children, Adam Greenwood and Cara Greenwood. Rodney is predeceased by his parents and several aunts and uncles. Rodney loved to have friends and enjoyed being around other friends.

There will be a private interment at Adamsville Cemetery, Edwardsburg, where he will be laid to rest next to his beloved parents. There will be no public services or calling hours. Arrangements are by Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, Edwardsburg. Feel free to call for information 269-663-5345.
