In Memory
Jerry Dale Wallace
Nov. 2, 1946 - Feb. 28, 2019
Jerry Dale Wallace was the son of Dorothy L. and Marvin R. Wallace.
He grew up in South Bend, Indiana, where he graduated from John Adams High School in 1965. He attended Indiana University in Bloomington, majoring in Comparative Literature and English and graduating with honors, including Phi Beta Kappa, in 1968.
Jerry was employed by Indiana State Government from 1973 to 2003. At the time of his retirement, he was a Senior Systems Analyst for the Indiana Department of Health. Jerry was an artist, with a particular interest in the human figure, and a writer.
In his later years, much of his writing was political and philosophical in nature. He was a Secular Humanist and a Socialist. He believed in truth, reason, peace, democracy, justice, equality, tolerance, humor, forgiveness, and love. He was a non-Christian who loved the humanity of Jesus. Like Jesus, he believed in helping the poor, feeding the hungry, healing the sick. He gave his time, his voice, and his financial support to the causes in which he believed.
Jerry is survived by his wife Judith; children Sarah, Peter, India, and Ariel; son-in-law Rudolph; and grandchildren Miranda, Ogden, and Jace.
