Cynthia “Cindi” Jean Helvey, passed away on the 31st of October 2024, at the age of 67, at Healthwin Specialized Care, South Bend, after a long battle with cancer. Cindi was born on January 5, 1957, in South Bend, IN, to the late John and Rojean Bakos Helvey.
Her light lives on through her cherished daughter, Jodi (Kerry) Wieczorkowski, and son, John (Katie) Stopczynski, Jr., both residents of South Bend. The joy of her life were her three grandchildren, Maddie, Jake Stopczynski, and Brynn Wieczorkowski. Her spirit is also lovingly remembered by her sisters, Cathie (Marty) Pynaert of South Bend and Cheri (Jack) Flock. Of Edwardsburg.
Cindi graduated from Adams High School; and for twenty years, she served as the service coordinator at Industrial Installations.
Cindi was an active member of American Legion Post 357 and Moose Lodge. Her greatest joy in life was evident in her overwhelming collection of books. She read for hours alongside her canine companion Franklin. She was also an enthusiastic gardener and once an avid bowler. Equally known for her cooking skills and crafting talents, Cindi especially loved sharing these interests with her grandchildren, creating cherished memories.
