Mrs. Barbara Castrejon Ball, 50, of 18343 Chaucer, died at 3 a.m. Sunday in Memorial Hospital after a seven-month illness. She was a nurse in the South Bend School Corp. for the past 14 years.

Born on Oct. 8, 1924 in South Bend, she was a lifetime resident of the area. On Aug. 30, 1952 in South Bend , she married James E. Ball, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Susan G. Ball of Mishawaka; a son, Bradley J. at home, and a sister, Mrs. Carman Anderson of Kalamazoo, Mich.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First Christian Church with Rev. John Trefzger, D.D., pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Welsheimer North Chapel, 52803 U.S. 31 N.

Mrs. Ball was a member of the First Christian Church, a graduate of Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and Indiana University, and received her master’s degree in special education in 1974.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church.
