Died Tuesday morning, February 25, 2003. Donald was born August 26, 1924 in South Bend, Indiana, a son of Orville E. and Lucinda I. (Stringer) Culp.

During WW II, he served with the U.S. Navy attached to the 4th Marines. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of his life, and was employed with the Shakespeare Company for 32 years, retiring in 1981. He was also a member of the American Legion, Masonic Anchor Lodge, and Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and 2 brothers, Robert Lee Culp and Carl Edward Culp. On July 27, 1946, he was united in marriage to Margaret A. (McDonald) Culp, who survives.

Also surviving are 3 children, Michael Culp of Kalamazoo, Anne (Jeffrey) Wohlfert of Grand Ledge, MI, and Merry (Dennis) Kuhn of Portage; 2 grandchildren, Sarah Kuhn and Garrett Wohlfert; and several nieces and nephews.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. Graveside Services will be held 10 o'clock Wednesday (March 5) in Fort Custer National Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Memorials may be directed to the Kalamazoo Humane Society.
