Mary Jane Currey

Mary Jane Currey, 78, of East Indiana Avenue, South Bend, Ind., died at 9:17 a.m. Thursday, March 13, in Memorial Hospital of South Bend.

On Aug. 19, 1924, in South Bend, she was born to the late Charles and Ella (Tuley) Estep, and was a lifelong resident of South Bend.

On April 24, 1943, in South Bend, she married Frederick W. Currey, who preceded her in death on April 16, 2001.

Mary Jane was a member of the Evangel Heights United Methodist Church, South Bend. Mary Jane is survived by two daughters, Linda Margraf of South Bend and Patti (Rick) Christy of Lakeville, Ind.; three grandchildren, Ryan, Kevin and Justin Christy of Lakeville, who were the pride and joy of her life; four sisters, Priscilla Alexander of St. Petersburg, Fla., Carolyn (Gary) Wright of Churubusco, Ind., Janet (Kenny) Hall of LaPorte, Ind., and Nancy (Elmer) Volgelsang of Vero Beach, Fla.; two brothers, Donald (Frances) Estep of LaPorte and Ronald (Claudia) Estep of Rolling Prairie, Ind.; and by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mary Jane will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 17, in the Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, Rev. James Butler of Evangel Heights United Methodist Church will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. today in the Palmer Funeral Home-River Park.
