Herbert E. Pletcher, 64, of New Port Richey, Fla., formerly of South Bend, died at 3:45 p.m. Nov. 4, in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Tampa, Fla., after an illness. Mr. Pletcher was the owner of the former Fletcher Business Forms.

He was born March 23, 1924, in Wyatt and had lived in South Bend most of his life, moving to Florida 10 years ago. On November 3, 1945, he married Alice M. Knapp. She survives along with a daughter, Mary Ann Gaff of Watauga, Texas; two sons, Herbert Jr. and Donald R., both of South Bend; seven grandchildren; a sister, Frances Jefferies of South Bend; and his mother, Loneda Pletcher of South Bend.

Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Cremation will take place with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. St. Joseph Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Pletcher was a member of American Legion Post 50 and Veterans of Foreign Wars in Florida. He was a veteran of World War II.
