SOUTH BEND - Mr. Christopher Whitlock, 55, beloved father, grandfather, and brother, departed this life peacefully on Monday, December 26, 2016.
On January 13, 1961, in South Bend, Indiana, he was born to the union of Isiah and Ruth Ivy Whitlock. He was educated in South Bend at John Adams High School where he graduated in 1979. Affectionately known as Chris “Rock”, Chris was an honors athlete at John Adams High School in Football, Track, and Wrestling where he excelled in Greco Roman style Wrestling. On the National AAU Level, he was truly a Sportsman Sport's man. Chris was a phenomenal, world class athlete; anybody and everybody that knew Chris, knew he loved sports.
He leaves to mourn his loss, two children, Adam Christopher Kuspa (Jamie), and Kimberly Dawn Kuspa; six sisters, Velma Lloyd, Beverly Taylor, Deborah Riley, and Michelle Stewart (Bishop James), all of South Bend, Indiana, Ruth Ward (Kenneth) of Missouri, and Kimberly Whitlock of Atlanta; two brothers, Bobbie Whitlock of Mishawaka, Indiana, and Isiah Whitlock of New York, New York; three grandchildren; a special friend, Gloria, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many relatives and friends who will always cherish his memory.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Isiah Whitlock Sr., and Ruth Ivy Whitlock; and a brother, Donnie Ray Whitlock.
Services for Mr. Christopher Whitlock will be held at 4:00 p.m., on Wednesday, January 4, 2016 at Alford's Mortuary with viewing from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
