Carmen Anderson, 68, passed peacefully following an extended illness in her Windsor, CT home.

The eldest of five siblings, born in South Bend, IN to Winard Sr. & Katie M. Anderson, who preceded, she graduated from John Adams High School & later relocated to Windsor, CT. Carmen had a caring compassionate heart, often volunteering at soup kitchens & housing foreign exchange students. She worked alongside her Jamaican-born father in the West Indian Assoc.-South Bend Chapter & was a member of the West Indian Assoc.-Hartford Chapter, & the Progressive League. Carmen retired after years of service from Pratt & Whitney, East Hartford, CT. She loved fashion, music, travel, & cooking, fondly known for her delicious mac-n-cheese!

Left to cherish her memory are daughter, Dana Anderson of East Hartford, CT; granddaughter, Montaz Alexander; great-grandchildren, Zion-Israel M. Alexander & Zaylah-Monroe Carmen Alexander all of Hartford, CT; brothers, Winard Jr. (Trena) of Indianapolis, IN, Solomon of South Bend, IN, & Benjamin (Devona) of Kokomo, IN; sisters, Monica (Clayton) Johnson of St. Catherine, Jamaica & Miriam Anderson of Bowie, MD; bonus sister, Jennifer McKay of Coconut Creek, FL; bonus brothers, Walter (Marie) Overton & retired Master Sgt. Dyrell Reeves of Tampa, FL; goddaughter, Carmen Martinez; nieces & nephews, Carlos-deShaun Brown, Jevon (Dionne), Antonia, Adrienne, Benjamin R., & Zora; long-time friends, Chrystal Kitt Reid, LaTanya Hewitt, Lynne Hammer, & Elizabeth Kilgore; special friend, Anderson Nelson, & a host of other friends and relatives.
