SOUTH BEND - Jeffrey Scott Clark, 64, of Port Saint Lucie, FL passed away Saturday in his home with loved ones near by.

Jeff was born in South Bend to the late John Franklin and Esther Myra (French) Clark on July 5, 1952. He married the love of his life Sheila Iris (Axelrod) Clark on November 26, 2003 in Delray Beach, FL. Left to cherish his memory along with his wife Sheila are: a son Douglas I (Jill) Clark of Prosper, TX; a brother John A. Clark of Martinsville, IN; a sister Shirley A. (Wayne) Moon of Carmel, CA; two step-sons: David M. (Misty) McLoughlin of Chesapeake, VA; and Steven J. (Jillian) McLoughlin of Las Vegas, NV, and six grandchildren: Olivia, Ava, and Ella Grace Clark and Olivia, Madison and, Bridgette McLoughlin.

Many may remember Jeff as an exceptional swimmer. He began his swimming career as a member of the age group AAU Michiana Marlins. Jeff was a 1970 graduate of John Adams High School where he Captained the Swim Team and was a member of two State Championship Teams in 1967 and 1968 under renown coach Don Coar. Jeff was a State Champion and All American. During his senior year, he was unbeaten in the 100 yard free for the entire year and became the Indiana High School State Champion and set a new state record. He won a Swimming scholarship to Purdue University where he set records in the 200, 400, and 800 yard free relays and was a Captain. He also played Water Polo at Purdue. In 1968, Mr. Clark was a member of a 100-mile relay team that shattered the World Record by four hours. In 2015 Jeff was inducted into the Indiana State High School Swimming and Driving Hall of Fame and was very proud to be among a select group.

Jeff worked as a Lifeguard and Swim Team Coach in the summers at McKinley Terrace Pool. A tall strong man he was known for his always smiling face and was a well respected team leader. He was active in many other activities at Adams and was an Honors Student.

After college, Jeff had a successful business career in the medical supply industry working for Baxter Healthcare where he was recognized numerous times for his accomplishments. Jeff climbed his way to achieve the position of Vice President of Sales for the Southwest U.S. His experience and leadership in the industry allowed for him to create his own business known as Health Care Recruiters of Indiana. He enjoyed spending time with his family, swimming, basketball, and always had a special place in his heart for dogs. He also enjoyed keeping in touch with old friends via Facebook.

He attended Sunnyside Presbyterian Church when he lived here in South Bend where his grandparents were founding members.

Cremation was entrusted to McGann Hay. A celebration meal will be held on Saturday May 6th from 1-3pm at McGann Hay Funerals / Cremations / Gatherings, Granger Chapel, 13260 SR 23, enter off Cherry Rd.
