SOUTH BEND - Kenneth David Sellers passed away suddenly at his home on Friday, January 15, 2016. The lifelong resident of South Bend was 63 years old.

Ken was born on September 12, 1952 in South Bend to Kenneth C. and Jane Adele (Fabing) Sellers. He was a 1970 graduate of John Adams High School. Ken married his best friend and love of his life, Julie Ann Bonczkowski on May 14, 1988. Ken leaves behind his bride of 27 years and 2 sons, Kenny and David. He is also survived by his mother and father-in-law, Ron and Carol Bonczkowski, sister, Sandra Shane, sister-in-laws, Cindy (Rusty) Neilson and Laurie (Tom) Ulmer, nieces, Carla Sellers, Savannah Ulmer and Sarah (Derek) Bober, nephew, Brandon (Marianna) Cerecke, 2 great-nieces, Kaydence Bober and Delaney Cerecke and 2 great-nephews, Keegan Bober and Landon Cerecke. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Ken's work career spanned over 40 years, most of which was spent in Quality Control/Inspection for various local employers who serviced the RV, automotive, defense and medical industries. Most recently Ken was employed by Maitland Engineering, Inc. Ken thoroughly enjoyed the adventure of life no matter whether he was hard at work, making new friends with the fans of the South Bend Cubs as the “Good Hops Beer Guy” at Four Winds Field or spending time with his family. He was a true people person and had the ability to carry on a conversation about anything with anyone. He was very active in his boys' academic and athletic pursuits in their childhood years as well as being a supportive father as he watched his sons turn into fine young gentlemen. Ken will be truly missed by his family, friends, co-workers and countless others whose lives he has touched over the years. Ken was a member of Hilltop Lutheran Church.

Celebration of Life services will be held 10:00 am Wednesday, January 20, at Hilltop Lutheran Church, 4114 S. Ironwood Drive, South Bend. Graveside services and burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 19, from 4-8 pm at Palmer Funeral Home - River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend and also one hour prior to Wednesday's service at the church.
