Jun. 18, 1936 -Feb. 12, 2009

GRANGER - William C. "Bill" Blue, 72, of Granger, IN, passed away
Thursday, February 12, after a courageous battle with pancreatic
cancer.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judy (Cobb) and his
three children, Scott (Lynn Ellis) of South Bend; Victoria (Stephen)
Gobeli of Dallas, TX; and Christopher (Joy Atkinson) of Greenville, SC;
along with seven grandchildren, Kevin, Tim, and Eric Blue, Adrian Jane
and Zachary Gobeli, and Thea and Lyle Blue. He is also survived by his
brothers Byron and Craig and his sister, Pam Whitehead. Bill was born on June 18,
1936, in Ney, Ohio, to William and Lucille Blue.

He graduated from Purdue University with a degree in aeronautical engineering. A member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, he maintained his close friendships with his brothers all his life.

After graduation, Bill married the love of his life, Judith Ann Cobb. He worked as an engineer for many years. He and Judy lived coast to coast before finally returning to South Bend where Bill worked with his father in the family business. Eventually, he started his own company, Bludot, Inc. The center of Bill's life was always his family which extended to a wide circle of friends.

Loved by many and respected by all who met him, Bill's larger than life personality filled the room. His sense of humor was contagious and those who knew him would confirm that he made everything fun. He was a generous, caring person who was there for anyone who needed him. He had a solution for every problem and solved the problems of many people who called upon him. Bill always "had a plan" and was constantly thinking about how to make the lives of others easier . He cared about those he never knew, devoting his time and resources to the Center for the Homeless as well as personally putting together and sending care packages to
the troops in Iraq. He is loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. The
void will not be filled.
