SOUTH BEND - Robert Truman Eddy, 77, residing in South Bend, passed away at 7:25 am Wednesday, January 22, 2014, in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka.
He was born March 27, 1936, in South Bend, to the late G. Malcolm and C. Ferne (Wittner) Eddy, and had remained a lifelong area resident.
On June 13, 1959, in St. Anthony Catholic Church, South Bend, Robert married the former Roseann Shafer, who survives. In addition to his loving wife of 54 years, he is survived by daughters, Annamarie (Mark) McClead, Marjorie (Chris) Chartier and Elizabeth Lynn (Dale) Nussel; sons, Robert T. (Veronica) Eddy Jr. and Mark (Sherry) Eddy; fifteen grandchildren, and one grandson, Benjamin Paul Bramlett, who preceded in death; two great-grandchildren; sister, Norma Mae (Jerry W.) Sterchi; and brothers, Gordon Richard (Judy) Eddy and Larry Wayne (Karen) Eddy.
Robert's career included working as an engineer for Bendix, Dodge Manufacturing, Miles Laboratories, Striker OEC and Ciron of California. He was a member of the Dodge Breakfast Club, Little Flower Fit for Life and St. Therese, Little Flower Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 25, 2014, in St. Therese, Little Flower Catholic Church, 54191 Ironwood Road, South Bend, IN 46635. Burial will take place at a later date.
Friends may visit with the family in the church Saturday for one hour prior to Mass. Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel, and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family with arrangements.
