SOUTH BEND - Richard C. Kletka, 72, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2009, at 6:02 p.m. in his residence.
Richard was born on September 19, 1936, in South Bend, to Charles M. and Arlene C. (Kehoe) Kletka. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles M. Kletka. His mother, Arlene Kletka of Valparaiso, IN, survives.
On March 1, 1958, he married Yukiko Fukuoka in Tokyo, Japan. She survives along with their children, Susan Miller of South Bend and Michael Kletka of Indianapolis, IN; four grandchildren, Amanda, Sarah, Matthew and Kristen; three great-grandchildren; and by his three sisters, Joyce (Wayne) Freed of South Bend, Kathy (Richard) Condon of Valparaiso and Karen (Roger) Williams of Kent, OH.
Richard was a mail handler for the United States Postal Service and retired in 1999 after 17 years of service. He was a parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, in Christ the King Catholic Church, where a Rosary will be prayed at 12:30 p.m. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, in the church. ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, is assisting the family.
