Scott Anthony Terlep, 58, of Indianapolis, Indiana, died suddenly on March 13, 2026. Scott was born at Eglin Airforce Base in Okaloosa County, Florida, to Anthony Joseph and Jean Patricia (née Athey) Terlep, and spent his childhood and young adult years in Elkhart and South Bend, Indiana. Scott attended St. Joseph Grade School, McKinley Elementary, Jefferson Middle School and Adams High School, all in South Bend.

Scott graduated from Indiana University (Bloomington, BA, 1990) and was a proud member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He was a devoted IU basketball and football fan, recently attending the national championship game in Miami. Scott maintained close friendships with friends from high school and college.

A lifelong dog lover, Scott spoiled many golden retrievers. In the past decade, Scott became a passionate advocate for Across America Boxer Rescue, fostering, adopting and bringing joy to boxers that needed his love and care.

Scott was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Terlep, and is survived by his father Tony (Dolores) Terlep, brother Jeff (Jill) Terlep, nephew Drew Terlep, niece Lauren Terlep, and many beloved Terlep aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services will be held Friday, March 27, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 411 W. Vistula St. (S.R. 120), Bristol, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Scott's name to his beloved Across America Boxer Rescue.
