Phyllis Barton

SOUTH BEND - Phyllis Barton, 29, of Madison Street, died about 10 a.m. Tuesday in the home of her mother at 1210 Queen St. of natural causes. Miss Barton was employed as a certified nurse's assistant at the Northern Indiana State Developmental Center.

She was born Nov. 12, 1964, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident. She is survived by a daughter, Tyra Gammage at home; a son, Tony Barton at home; her mother, Alonza Williams of South Bend; her father,. Phillip of South Bend; two brothers, Kevin Pope and Darren Williams, both of South Bend; maternal grandmother, Pearl Williams of South Bend; and paternal grandparents, Sadie and Owen Barton of South Bend.

She was a graduate of Adams High School.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call two hours before services in the church.
