Rodney Nick Weldy

Rodney “Papa” Weldy, 59, of South Bend passed away August 27, 2017 at home in Brownsburg, with his family by his side. He was proceeded in death by his father, Richard Weldy, and sister, Rebecca “Beckie” Morris. Rodney was born on February 24, 1958. On May 4, 1990, Rodney married the former Kelly Fitzsimons and shared 27 years together.

Rodney was a 1977 graduate of John Adams High School.

“Old Man” to his four children, Amber Weldy, Stacey (Damion) Maxwell, Travis Weldy and Tyler Weldy. Rod was a devoted Papa to his grand-daughters, Elizabeth “Lizzy” Weldy and Maya Maxwell. Rodney enjoyed weekend cookouts, golf, NASCAR and watching football. Rodney survived by his mother, Bertha Weldy, siblings, Rick (Peggy) Weldy and Robbie Weldy. The Weldy family get-to-gethers were always enjoyable and amusing. Following Rodney’s cremation, immediate family will be attending a memorial service, September 1, 2017. The Weldy family invites all friends and family to join us for a Celebration of Life, September 2, 2017 at the VFW 1307 E. Jefferson Blvd in Mishawaka, IN from 3 pm to 6pm.
