SOUTH BEND - Amy E. Batdorf, 57, of South Bend, IN, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017, at her home. She was born on July 15, 1960, in South Bend, IN, to Everett S. and Mary Joan (Hardman) Batdorf, Jr.

Amy is survived by her mother, Mary Joan Batdorf of Mishawaka, IN; fiancé, Randy, Smith of South Bend, IN; sister, Becky Carpenter of South Bend, IN; two brothers, David (Karyn) Batdorf of Bloomington, IN, and Thomas (Elinore) Batdorf of Fishers, IN; nieces, Molly Carpenter and Jaclyn Batdorf; and nephews, Nicholas (Becky) Batdorf, Samuel (Amanda) Carpenter, Robert (Allie) Carpenter, Wilson Batdorf, Andrew Batdorf, Bill (Kim) Reece and Philip (Allison) Nowaczewski; and a host of great-nieces and nephews.

Amy was a lifelong resident of South Bend. She graduated from DePauw University at Green Castle with a degree in elementary education. She loved NASCAR and traveling in TN to Gatlinburg and the Smoky Mountains. Amy loved to read, sew, knit, crochet, bake and collect fabric. She was very proud of everyone and was the best aunt.

A time for sharing will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St., South Bend, IN. Graveside services and burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 - 1:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
