SOUTH BEND - Mr. Edward Archie Myers Jr., age 51, beloved son, father, grandfather and brother, who resided on Riverside Drive, South Bend, Indiana, departed this life Wednesday, July 13, 2011.
Edward was born to the union of Edward Archie Myers Sr., and Earlene (Anderson) Myers on July 21, 1959, in South Bend, Indiana. He graduated from John Adams High School and studied one year of college. He worked as a laborer with AM General. He visited various churches where he loved to play his guitar. His passions were playing the guitar, singing and composing songs.
Edward was preceded in death by his sister, Sybil Lane.
Survivors left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Kiara Myers of South Bend; two sons, Derrick Myers of Indianapolis, IN, and Justin Myers of South Bend; three grandchildren, Alegna Rhodes, Devine Myers and Justin Myers, Jr.; his father, Edward Archie (Sylvia) Myers Sr.; and his mother, Earlene Myers of Houston, TX; five sisters, Gwendolyn Tillman of Houston, TX, Janelle Myers of Chicago, IL, Charlotte (Kevin) Starks of Lawrenceville, GA, Regina Myers of Atlanta, GA, and Allison (Andre) Wells of South Bend; four brothers, Ralph Anderson of Houston, TX, Douglas Myers of South Bend, John (Tricia) Myers of San Diego, CA, and Jeffrey (Manikka) Myers of Cambridge, MA; one very special friend, Myra McEwen, and one aunt, Hattie Roundtree, both of South Bend; along with other relatives and friends.
Memorial services for Mr. Edward Archie Myers Jr. will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2011, at Grace AME Zion Church.
