James “Jim” Phillip Marnocha

April 11, 1961 ~ November 24, 2025

James “Jim” Phillip Marnocha, 64, born on April 11, 1961, passed away on November 24 in his beloved cabin in Michigan. Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Jacqueline Heckaman and his father, Harry Marnocha. Jim is survived by his brother, John (Mo) his sisters, Carol MacDonald (Mike) and Mimi Patterson (Kevin). He is also survived by nieces, Jessica and Angela and nephews, Matthew, Sean, Scott and Thomas.  Jim graduated from John Adams High School in 1979.

Jim lived a life rich in creativity and curiosity—qualities that made him unforgettable to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A lifelong musician, Jim was a locally renowned guitarist whose talent echoed through decades of performances. Whether on stage, in a garage jam session, or simply playing for friends, Jim’s music carried a soulfulness that reflected who he was: expressive, and endlessly dedicated to his craft. For many in the community, his guitar was the soundtrack of countless memories.

Before music became his primary creative outlet, he raced dirt bikes in his younger years, embracing the thrill, grit, and determination the sport demanded. He also worked in the electronics industry. He was an avid fisherman who found peace on the water.

A dog lover through and through, Jim shared a special bond with his most beloved companions, Daisy and Sherman. Their loyalty, comfort, and presence were deeply important to him, and they were constant sources of joy throughout his life. Jim had a gift for conversation—always interested, and always ready with a great story from years gone by.

His legacy lives on in the music he played, the memories he created, and the countless lives he touched.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
