Kenneth E. Quimby

SOUTH BEND - Kenneth E. "Kenny" Quimby, 56 years old, passed away at 3:52 p.m. on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at his home. Kenny was born on January 20, 1961, in Tachikawa, Japan, and had lived most of his life in South Bend. He loved music and collected albums of many artists. Kenny enjoyed cooking and worked in food service at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center and Holy Cross Rehabilitation and Wellness Center. He also enjoyed working at The Builder's Store in later years.

Kenny is survived by his father, John M. "Jack" (Gloria L. Chelminiak) Quimby; sister, Lynne M. Zeiger; nieces, Gloria, Nina, Lucy and Shelfie; uncles, Chuck (Wendy) Rhoades and Michael (Carol) Rhoades; aunt, Anne (the late Pat) Burns; several cousins and extended family; and his longtime friend and companion, Anita Wright-Smith.

Kenny was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria J. Quimby; brother-in-law, Dan Zeiger; and grandparents, Kenneth and Lucille Polk, Shirley and Louise Rhoades, and John D. and Stella Quimby.

A Celebration of Kenny's life will be held in the Spring of 2018. Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend, is assisting the family.
