RuVader Hall-Wilson Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Alford's Mortuary on Feb. 6, 2026.
With deep love and profound sorrow, we announce the heavenly transition of our beloved RuVader LaVelle Hall Wilson, who lent her spirited grace to the world from June 4, 1963 to January 16, 2026. Born in South Bend, Indiana and moved to San Antonio, Texas in 1988, RuVader LaVelle's life was a brilliant tapestry of laughter, generosity, and a remarkable talent for music and bringing people together. She was a beacon of love and a testament to the power of faith, reminding us of the verse in Proverbs 31:26, "She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue."
LaVelle was a woman of many talents. She had a special ear for music and a golden voice that echoed in the hearts of many. She was selected to commission a choir for Diana Ross, an achievement that was only one of many in her illustrious career in the Christian ministry. Her passion for serving others found an outlet in her work as an Administrative Minister and as an ordained Elder by The Kingdom Council of Interdependent Christian Churches and Ministries. RuVader LaVelle's leadership and commitment were recognized when she received an Executive Certificate for Leadership for Ministers from the Howard University School of Business in 2015. She was also a proud board member of C.E.A.S.E (Christian Executive Administrative Support Empowerment). LaVelle studied music at Indiana University at Bloomington. She loved to worship, and even more, she loved to help others find their voice in worship. Her big smile and laughter was a melody that uplifted everyone around her.
LaVelle was a loving mother to her three children Jared Gregory Wilson, Jael Charis Wilson, and Jaden Nicole Wilson, a dutiful daughter to RuVader T. Hall and Robert L. Hall (deceased), and a caring sister to Ava L. Hall and Samuel D. Hall, Deborah Hall Baker (deceased), siblings Michele Johnson (Butch), Michael Patton (Tina), and Marq Patton (Norma), and loving step-mother, Janice Hall. 1st cousins Luther Taylor, Sr. (Gwen), Lonnie Taylor (Charlotte), God-parents Betty and Ollie Walton and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, God-children and close friends to cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert L. Hall and sister, Deborah Hall Baker. RuVader LaVelle's legacy is a testament to her loving nature, her funny spirit, her boundless generosity, and her enduring faith. As we remember her, let us celebrate a life lived with love, faith, and an unwavering spirit.
In honor of RuVader LaVelle, we invite you to leave your cherished memories and upload photos of her on the memorial page. As we remember her, let us celebrate a life lived with love, faith, and an unwavering spirit.
