James Edward “Jim” Diedrich, 72, passed away on August 05, 2026, at Ottenheimer Inpatient Center in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Jim was born on November 06, 1953, in South Bend, Indiana, to William Diedrich and Jean Marcellia Hill Diedrich.  He graduated from South Bend John Adams High School in 1972.  A lifelong learner, Jim earned his bachelor’s degree in Public and Environmental Affairs from Indiana University South Bend.  He was a self-employed contractor who took great pride in his work and remained actively employed until the end of his life.

Jim had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and found joy in fishing, sailing, camping, hunting, and gathering around a good bonfire.  He especially enjoyed spending time in nature, but nothing brought him greater happiness than being surrounded by his family.

Known for his larger-than-life personality, Jim never met a stranger.  He had a remarkable sense of humor, loved telling jokes, and could always find a way to make others laugh.  He was generous, compassionate, and always willing to help someone in need.

Later in life, Jim found the Lord, and his faith became an important part of who he was.  He was passionate about sharing his faith with others and took great pride in helping many people find their own spiritual path.

He is survived by his daughter and son; six grandchildren; his sister, Lori Diedrich of Leslie (Oxley), Arkansas; his nephews, Daniel Brooks and his wife, Stephanie, of Fort Collins, Colorado, and David Brooks and his wife, Michelle, of Spring Hill, Tennessee; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Lilly also known as Pirate #1, and Liam Brooks, also known as Pirate #2, of Fort Collins and Kent and Alister Brooks of Spring Hill.

Jim lived life on his own terms and did so with pride, determination, humor, and an unwavering love for those around him. He will be deeply missed by his family, his friends, and the many lives he touched along the way.
