Michael Taylor Lobdell

LONETREE, CO-Michael Taylor Lobdell, 68, formerly of South Bend, IN passed away with loved ones by his side on Tuesday December 13, 2021 1:41pm Mtn. Time at home after a lengthy respiratory illness.

Mike was born in Chicago, IL to Stephen and Barbara Ellen (Covert) Lobdell on March 20, 1953. He was raised in South Bend and Graduated from John Adams High School Class of 1972. A popular kid during high school he was a Pole Vaulter on the Track Team and was a member of the Ski Club, and the Adams Anglers a Hunting and Fishing sportsman group which would contribute articles and pictures of there outings to the school newspaper The Tower. After high school Mike was drawn to the mountains so he attended and received an Associates Science Degree from Colorado Mountain College. An avid snow skier and hunter he stayed in Colorado where he met hid former wife Beth Ann Love Lobdell who survives of Lone Tree. They were married in Virginia, MN. Mike worked and retired in 2018 from the Roofing Industry as a Salesman and earlier the heavy machine industry which he learned from his dad's business in South Bend, Materials Handling Corp.

Mike is survived by his two daughters and their kids: Melanie Beth Morgan and her son Rafe Holcombe Morgan of Lone Tree and Melissa Jo Lobdell and her daughter Allison Joanna Lobdell Griffin of Highlands Ranch, CO. During his Adams Angler days, he would enjoy taking his buddies Bob, Pat and Joe down to his grandparents Kentucky cattle ranch and playing cowboys riding horses and chasing poachers off the range. Mike was most happy when he was spending time with his girls and grandkids at his cabin in the mountains.
