Jon Harold Patty

SOUTH BEND - Jon Harold Patty, 57, a lifelong resident of South Bend, died at Memorial Hospital on Wednesday morning. Jon was born on June 23, 1954, in South Bend to Bridget (Liszewski) and Harold Patty, both of whom preceded him in death.

He is survived by Judy Nelund; his daughter Stacey (Rob) Richez; his son Derrick Patty; and his grandson Aaron Richez. He is also survived by his siblings Kathleen (Bruce) Newmeyer, Michael (Cindy) Patty, Eric (JoAnn) Patty, Steven Patty, Maureen (Brian) VerVaet and numerous nieces and nephews from the Patty and Nelund families.

Jon was a 1972 graduate of John Adams High School. Jon was currently employed by Hubbard Hills Estates, Elkhart. He was previously employed by Kroger's in South Bend and Elkhart, The Family and Children's Center in Mishawaka, and Jaworski's Meat Market in South Bend. Jon was an avid motorcycle, car and sports enthusiast.

He loved his family deeply, especially his grandson Aaron, and spending time with them. He was proud of all of his family and celebrated their events and achievements alongside them. Jon was a friend to everyone he met and could never go anywhere without seeing a friend along the way. He shared his generosity, support and love unselfishly. He will be missed by everyone who loved him and knew him. Jon truly believed that "charity begins at home". He would have much rather helped others first and foremost.
