Bruce Duane Stuart
February 20, 1954 ~ October 9, 2025 (age 71)
Bruce Duane Stuart 71, of Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly following a recent illness.
Bruce was born on February 20, 1954, in South Bend, Indiana, to the late Charles and Phyllis (Michael) Stuart. He is survived by his beloved life partner, Antonia “Toni” Bilancio; his son, Sean Stuart; and his grandson, Austin (Chloe) Gannon. He also leaves behind his sister, Jackie (Jerry) Machamer; his brother, Gary (Kathy) Stuart; his nephews, Charles Darr, Brian Stuart, and Aaron Stuart; his niece, Kim (Jeff) White; and several great-nieces and nephews. He will also be dearly missed by his loyal grandpups, Reese and Mya.
Bruce began his career as a movie theater projectionist and later served as a union representative and president of the Local 187 Stagehands Union. He went on to become a skilled residential carpenter, a trade he continued with dedication throughout the remainder of his life.
Bruce cherished time spent with his life partner, family, and close friends — whether dining out, watching sports (GO BEARS!), playing cards, fishing, or simply relaxing with a cold Coors Light in hand. Above all, Bruce was a proud dad and grandpa. He took immense joy in every story, accomplishment, and shared moment with his family.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor Bruce’s memory.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the nurses at Memorial Hospital ICU for their attentive care. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ernestine M. Raclin House Hospice in Mishawaka, Indiana, whose compassionate team provided exceptional care and comfort to Bruce in his final moments.
Elkhart Cremation Services has been entrusted with his care.
