Jennifer Leona Adams

Jan. 11, 1979 - Jun. 10, 2021

Jennifer Leona Adams was born in South Bend, IN on January 11, 1979 to the union of Patricia Perkins and Paul Adams.

After bravely battling a four-month long illness, Jennifer transitioned from this life on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at the age of 42.

Jennifer graduated from John Adams High School in June of 1997, where she was a member of the Lady Eagles basketball team before suffering a career-ending knee injury, prompting her to take on a role as a trainer to stay close to a sport that she so deeply loved. After graduating from Adams, Jennifer attended Ivy Tech State College, as well as Brown Mackie.

Before and for a short time after graduation, Jennifer worked at Growing Kids Learning Center on SR 23. From there she worked at Madison Center for Children for several years.

Jennifer had a love and passion for children, which drove her to open an in-home daycare that she affectionately named “Pat’s Playhouse”, after her mother.

Waiting for Jennifer with open arms at the Gates of Heaven were her mother, Patricia Adams, aunt Jennifer “Perry” Shorter, grandparents Dorothy “Peachie” and Jerome Perkins.

Left to cherish Jennifer’s memory are three children: Jayden Adams, Rhyan Adams and JayMarie Lindsey; a fiancé, Elton “EJ” Lindsey; father Paul (Billi) Adams; brother Rev. Matthew (Chiquita) Adams; sister Sonya Adams; twin sister Jessica Hoskins; nieces Alyson, Kendall, Jennifer and Aaliyah Hoskins; Coryn Adams; nephews Jalen and Evan Adams, Kristain Hoskins; great-niece A’Lani Freeman; great-nephew Camden Edwards; best friend Stephanie Moore; cousin Erin “Nikki” Shell; god children and a host of cousins and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 12:00 PM at Palmer Funeral Homes – West Chapel, 2702 Lincoln Way West, South Bend, IN 46628.
