We are honored to announce that John Adams High School Class of 1973 Jimmy Webb will be inducted into the Indiana High School Basketball Hall of Fame on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. The late Jimmy Webb graduated from South Bend Adams in 1973 and was the second freshman to start for a South Bend school. His senior year accolades included All-Sectional, All-Regional, All-Semi State, All-Conference, and Indiana All Star. He was the leading scorer in South Bend/St. Joseph’s County history with 1,769 points, most FT’s (291), and was named to the Silver Anniversary Team in 1998. Webb attended Cincinnati, playing in 26 games in 74-75 before not playing in 75-76 due to illness. Webb then went to California State Polytechnic, where he averaged 10 points per game from 1977-79. Webb played Semi-Pro in Mexico where he averaged 26 points per game. Webb passed away in 1988. Current Adams Principal Jim Seitz commented: "It is an honor to have a John Adams High School Alum inducted into the prestigious Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame. At the nomination meeting it was amazing to hear the stories and the number of people who said that Jimmy Webb was the best high school basketball player they had ever seen." The John Adams Eagles Athletic Department will celebrate this honor during a basketball game after the new year.
