EVELYN ANNA BARE SMITH

Evelyn Anna Smith, aged 68, of Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2024, in the comfort of her Mishawaka home, surrounded by the warmth of her loving family. Born on January 24, 1956, to the late Loyal and Evelyn Bare in South Bend, she was a beacon of light and joy in the lives of all who knew her.
Evelyn dedicated her life to her family, serving as a devoted wife to her husband Jeffry Smith, a nurturing mother to her children, Lynn Gaddy and Ahmanda Smith of South Bend, Hal Gaddy of South Bend, Tim (Angie) Gaddy of Granger, Curtis Smith of South Bend, and Jacob Smith of Winamac and her sister Sandy Bare of South Bend. She was preceded in death by her half-sister Janet Stubbs. Her love knew no bounds, extending to her cherished eight grandchildren Nathaniel Sanders, Latre Sanders, Preston Gaddy, John Gaddy, Harper Coquillard, Cora Coquillard, Lilly Gaddy, and Noa Smith, each of whom brought immense happiness to her days.
While her primary calling was that of a homemaker, Evelyn also took solace and pride in her involvement with her spiritual community as a member of the Vineyard Church. She lived a life that epitomized the essence of love, dedicating herself wholeheartedly to being a phenomenal mom and grandma.
Evelyn's legacy is one of unconditional love and selfless devotion, a testament to a life well-lived and a woman well-loved. Her memory will be forever cherished as a guiding light of warmth and affection.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Timberland Bible Church, 16623 IN-23, South Bend, IN 46635.
