In Memory

Edna Earl Potts
December 27, 1955 — May 08, 2026
Edna Potts, age 70, peacefully departed this life on May 8, 2026. She was born on December 27, 1955, in Montgomery, Alabama to Nathaniel and Annie Potts. At a young age, she relocated with her family to South Bend, Indiana, the place that shaped her childhood and gave her many cherished memories and dear friends. She graduated from John Adams High School in 1974.
Edna was a woman full of life, love, and joy. She had a deep love for music, dancing, and traveling, and her warm spirit could brighten any room she entered. Above all, she treasured her family. Her grandchildren were truly the light of her world, and she found immense joy in spending time with them and watching them grow.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children: daughter Shaynel Starks (Donnie) and son Michael See (Elizabeth). She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Harmonie Starks and Donnie Starks Jr., whom she loved dearly.
Edna is also survived by her beloved sisters Dorothy Franklin, Melissa Davis, Katie Wilson, and Edith Alvies, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Her favorite scripture was:
“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” — Matthew 18:20
Though she will be deeply missed, Edna’s love, laughter, and beautiful spirit will continue to live on through all those who knew and loved her.

Bruce Allen Spann (1975)
My sympathies to Edna's family and dear friends I was in the class of 1975, so I knew Edna as a fellow schoolmate at Adams. May Edna rest in peace and God bless her family and friends. Sincerely, Bruce Spann
