Michael A. Sparks – Date of death unknown. Sadly, Mike committed suicide. He had a near drowning accident and after that he lost his ability to cope. Mike left behind a wife and two kids. Mike is mostly remembered by his classmates for riding his unicycle to school and running the John Adams radio station from up in the tower.

Michael S. Sparks, 30, of 114 Eastgate Circle, Mishawaka, died Tuesday morning in his home. Dr. James McMeel, deputy county coroner, ruled the death a suicide by hanging.
Mr. Sparks was employed by Otto Coach Co., Elkhart, and was the former manager of McKinley Pizza Hut. He was born Sept. 23, 1956, in Arlington Heights, Mass., and lived in South Bend since 1971, coming from Madison, Conn.
On March 28, 1981, in South Bend, he married Gail Marvin, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Rachel Elizabeth at home; a son, Christian Michael at home; a sister, Eliza M. Panciera of Willimantic, Conn.; four brothers, David G. of Bowie, Md., George F. of Hanover Park, Ill., John P. of Kendallville and Joseph M. of Fort Collins, Colo.; his parents, Mary and David Sparks of South Bend; and maternal grandparents, Alice Barber and Albert P. Marvin, both of Traverse City, Mich.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Hickey Funeral Home, 3516 E. Jefferson Blvd., where the parish rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
He was a graduate of Adams High School and the University of Notre Dame; a former member of Michiana Figure Skating Club; a member of the church and lector; and a student at Indiana Vocational Technical College-Northcentral.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph County Heart Fund.
