Kenneth E. Chambliss, Sr.

April 11, 1958 ~ March 15, 2020 (age 61)
Kenneth Eugene Chambliss, Sr., 61, lifelong South Bend resident, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 15, 2020 in his home, due to natural causes. He was born April 11, 1958 in South Bend to the union of George and Louvenia (Williams) Chambliss.
 
Kenny accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized under the leadership of the Rev. Bernard White. He was educated through the South Bend Community School Corporation. Kenny graduated from John Adams High School in 1976, where he was a phenomenal track star. He attended Southwestern Michigan College before serving his country honorably in the United States Army. Upon his return to South Bend, Kenny was employed with Conrail Railroad for many years before taking an early retirement. His hobbies included watching football, music and dancing. Kenny will be truly missed by family and friends.
 
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Kenneth Eugene Chambliss, Jr.; sister, Debra (Bernard) Irby; stepdaughter, Timika (Bobby) Strong; four grandchildren, Keemon, Zahmari, Keemariaha and Zahneigha Chambliss; four aunts, Everzine Chambliss, Hattie Chambliss, Mary E. Williams and Cornelious Shambry, all of South Bend; and two uncles, Richard Chambliss of South Bend and Johnnie L. Williams  of Chicago; as well as a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Louvenia Chambliss; grandparents, Roberty Henry and Emma Chambliss and Johnnie and Effie Williams; four uncles, Robert, Charles, Larry and Leroy Chambliss; and five aunts, Louvenia Cain, Castoria Chavis, Etta Mae Kirkland, Mattie Williams and Stella Williams.
 
Funeral services for Kenneth will be held at 11:00 am Monday, March 23, 2020 in the Palmer Funeral Home – West Chapel, 2702 Lincolnway West, South Bend. Rev. James E. King of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 – 11:00 am Monday in the funeral home prior to services.
