John H. Croy Jr.
June 9, 1964-February 12, 2016
South Bend-John H. Croy Jr., 51, passed away on Friday, February 12, 2016.
He was born on June 9, 1964 to John and Patsy (Newcomer) Croy in South Bend.
Surviving family are his parents, John and Patsy; sister, Lisa (Croy) Spencer; nieces, Serena and Kara Spencer; and great nieces, Rylin and Zaylee Spencer and his soulmate, Kris Thomas. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond and Lela Newcomer and John and Aletha Croy.
John graduated from John Adams High School in South Bend in 1983. He excelled in playing soccer while in high school.
Later after graduation he was the Assistant Director at Turners Indoor Soccer Center where he handled the on field coaching and refereeing. He loved working with kids at the Soccer Zone. John also played on many men’s adult soccer leagues over the years.
He traveled to several countries which included Australia and Thailand. His latest trip was to Amsterdam, Netherlands with his buddies.
For the last 20 years, John was Manager of at Cliffside Beach Resort on Nantucket Island. He will be remembered for his love of life and his joyful and outgoing personality. He will always be in our hearts.
A Celebration of life will be on Thursday, February 18 at 6 p.m. with visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8 Street, Mishawaka.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be donated in John’s name to The New Children’s Wing at Memorial Hospital, 615 N. Michigan St., South Bend, IN 46601
