Alan Kent DeGroff, 63, of North Liberty, IN passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. Alan was born on July 4, 1952 in South Bend, IN to the late Don and Louise (Hower) DeGroff. In January, 1982, in Lydick, IN he married Diane (Roza) DeGroff, who survives. In addition to his wife, Diane, of 35 years, Alan is survived by his daughter, Jessica DeGroff of Chicago, IL; his son, Aaron (Beth) DeGroff of Fishers, IN; two grandchildren, Abby and Kaitlyn DeGroff; his brother, Don (Melanie) DeGroff Jr. of Elkhart, IN; and many nieces and nephews. Alan was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Sarah, in 1988; and his sister, Kay Rajanna. Alan enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He made a hobby of fixing homes in North Liberty and was a Boy Scout leader for over 10 years, He enjoyed car racing, especially the Indianapolis 500, loved Purdue football and tailgating, Funeral services for Alan will take place on Saturday, December 12, at 2:00 p.m. at the North Liberty Church of Christ; 65225 State Road 23, North Liberty, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will take place at Eastlawn Cemetery in North Liberty.
