SOUTH BEND - John “Rocky” Dyszkiewicz passed away January 25, 2018 at the age of 83. He was born in South Bend, Indiana on December 25, 1934. He is survived by his wife, Madeline (Maggie) of 28 years. He was a Villages resident for 25 years. He had a wonderful circle of friends, and was known as a sweet man by those who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie and granddaughter, Theresa. John is survived by son, Tom (Jackie) and daughter, Cheryl (Keith) Wilder; stepdaughters, Linda (Kim) Wright, Eden (Larry) Mitchell, and Liz (Bill) Rosencrantz; and stepson, Geordie Mitchell, all of whom loved him. He is also loved by his 12 grandchildren and 11+ great-grandchildren.

John graduated from Adams (South Bend) High School, and served in the Army in South Korea. He worked as a draftsman and designer for companies including Dodge and Bendix; his biggest accomplishment was helping to design the first ABS brakes systems.

Notre Dame sports was one of his biggest passions (Go IRISH!). He served as president with several years of service for Morris Mathis Little League. John moved to The Villages, FL after retiring, and pursued many interests including helping to start the Notre Dame Club and Polish Club. He loved playing softball and golfing. He also served as travel director on numerous trips with other villagers.

Services will be held at St. Timothy's Catholic Church, 1351 Paige Place, The Villages on Tuesday, Jan. 30 at 10:00 am. The family requests donations be made to Operation Homebound, North Lake Presbyterian Church, 975 Rolling Acres Rd., Lady Lake, FL, 32159.
