Donald E. Mattox

SOUTH BEND • Donald E. Mattox, 62, residing on South 28th Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away after an extended illness at 4:55 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12, in Hospice House of South Bend.

Mr. Mattox worked for the Bendix Corporation for 13 years and was then a real estate broker for over 20 years. He had most recently been employed as custodian for Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of South Bend for the past four years.

He was born on Sept. 28, 1934, in South Bend, to the late Earl and Helen Mattox.

On Oct. 15, 1955, in South Bend, he married Janice A. Hensel, who survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Cheryl (Terry) Leonard of Niles, Mich.; a son, Dwight (Denise) Mattox of Boynton Beach, Fla.; three granddaughters, Carrie and Samantha Leonard of Niles and Nicole Mattox of Boynton Beach; and by a brother, Robert.

Mr. Mattox was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, a graduate of John Adams High School of South Bend, and attended Indiana University at South Bend.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Burial will be at a later date in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Notre Dame. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice House, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637
