Carol E. (Anderson) Larson
Carol E. Larson (Anderson) of Noblesville, IN. (formerly of Granger, IN.) passed away on November 9th, 2024 at Community Heart and Vascular Hospital, Indianapolis. IN. Carol was born on April 4th, 1933 in South Bend, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents Edwin G. and Tillie (Lambert) Anderson and her oldest daughter, Judith Ellen Larson and son- in- law Ted Book.
On June 4th, 1955, Carol married Robert A. Larson who survives. She is also survived by two daughters, Bethann Book of Howell, MI. and Susan Larson (David) Carich of Noblesville, IN. Four grandchildren, Matthew (Rachel) Book of Battle Creek, MI. Larson (Brooke) Book of Port St. Lucie. FL. Abigail (Cole) Schluchter of Noblesville, IN. Megan (Daniel) Carich, of Carmel, IN. and great grandchildren Rhett and Graham Schluchter of Noblesville, IN.
She graduated from John Adams High School in 1951 and was a graduate of Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1954. She was employed by Memorial Hospital and the South Bend Clinic.
She was an active, lifelong member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, South Bend, IN. where she and Bob nurtured their faith and cultivated enduring friendships spanning decades. Carol was a former member of Morris Park Country Club, University Club of Notre Dame and the Swedish-American Historical Society. Carol also volunteered for Hospice of St. Joe County, the Ronald McDonald Room at Memorial Hospital and Meals on Wheels.
We were all touched by the remarkable life that she led. As a mother, she created lasting memories for all of us with 40 years of Swedish Smorgasbord's, her rice pudding, meatballs, lingonberries and Christmas cookies.
She loved being a grandmother and showed how the little things in life are actually the big things. She cherished every moment with Rhett and Graham, her beloved great-grandbabies, and treasured their laughter, hugs and kisses.
Together, she and Bob shared unwavering love and support for each other for over 70 years.
May her memory be a blessing to all of those who loved her, inspiring love, laughter and cherished moments.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 30th, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 225 East Haney St. South Bend, In. 46613. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service. Burial will immediately follow at Highland Cemetery in South Bend. Palmer Funeral Home – Hickey Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
