Joan Ora (Spillman) Allbaugh

Joan Ora Spillman Allbaugh, 93, of Bloom City, entered into the presence of the Lord on Friday, August 28, 2026. She was a woman of strong Christian faith and was born on October 15, 1932, in South Bend, Indiana, the daughter of Oren and Eva Jo (Jensen) Spillman. Joan graduated from John Adams High School in South Bend.

Joan met Norval Allbaugh in South Bend, and the two were married in 1953. Joan lived in South Bend for many years and cherished the friendships she made throughout her life. She especially enjoyed getting together monthly with her high school friends, a tradition she continued for more than 40 years.

After retirement, Joan and Norval moved to Wisconsin and made their home on Norval's family farm in Bloom City. Together, they shared a love of dolls, antiques, and traveling. Joan was a member of a doll club and enjoyed traveling to doll shows, while Norval would help her fix the dolls that were cracked or broken. Each year, they traveled to Florida, making the journey an adventure by stopping along the way to antique.

Their love of antiques eventually led them to open their own antique store on their property in Bloom City, where they enjoyed sharing their finds and meeting others who shared their passion.

Joan will be remembered for her strong faith, her love of family and friends, and the many special memories she and Norval created together throughout their marriage.

Joan is survived by her four children: Debbie (Ken) Carroll of Bloom City, WI, Grant Allbaugh of South Bend, IN, Cindy Holley of Bloom City, WI, and Duane Allbaugh of South Bend, IN; 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, and four sisters.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the Bloom City Cemetery. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
