Larry D. Green Sr.
June 13, 1943- June 11, 2024
Larry D. Green Sr. has gone home to be with the Lord and his daughter Michelle on June 11, 2024. After the Lord, his family was his whole life. He was the ultimate Santa, the Easter egg reward man, the quarter guy at OC Café and the best smelling grandpa. He was born June 13, 1943, to Jerry and Pat Green. Larry had two siblings, a sister Vicky, and brother Dan (deceased). He married the love of his life, Kay Lyn (Butz) on October 27, 1962. They have five beautiful children, seventeen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren with two on the way. Along with his wife Kay, he leaves behind a daughter, Angela and Ray Olson, daughter Michelle green Ellenberger (deceased), son Larry (Lolita) Green, daughter Kristen Green Sizer (Michael Crandell), and son Ryan (Kathy) Green. Grandchildren Amanda, Alyssa (John), Austin, Lauren, Larry III, Meg (Jimmy), Chloe, Sydney, Kassidy, Liam, Kayte (Drew), Kolton (Jordain), Koy, Heidi, Devyn (Ellyssa), Mason, and Cannon along with nine great grandchildren (two more on the way). In-laws Ruth and Robert Butz (deceased) and sisters-in-law Barbara, Jill and Susan. Many nieces and nephews.
He attended John Adams High School and Penn High School (where he graduated class of 1961). After high school he worked at Rockwell Standard where he started his apprenticeship in tool and die. He then worked twenty years at Miles/Bayer as a machinist and later as a maintenance manager of citrics where he retired. He then went back to work at Ventline, Robert Weed Plywood and eventually at AM General in quality control where he finally officially retired. He was one of the few people over his career who carried five different journeymen’s skilled trades cards.
He was a regular member of East United Methodist Church, and they were his second family.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at East United Methodist Church 1621 E. 3rd St. Mishawaka, In 46544 with Funeral services to follow at 12:00 noon in the church. The burial will follow in Fairview cemetery.
In lieu of flowers you may make a donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Larry’s Name.

Wow Larry, ya just missed 81. I wouldn't say Larry and I were friends but we did exchange 'hello's' when occasionally passing in the hallowed halls of John Adams. It sounds like Larry was a great family man, and a hard worker, all his life. I'm so sorry he left at such a young age. I know there will be many, many tears, and I hope, lots of laughter. I know he was one of the good guys. God bless you all as you mourn his passing and celebrate his life. Another Eagle has flown into the clouds. G
