SOUTH BEND, IN - Lois E. Murdick, 86, residing in South Bend, Indiana passed away Monday, January 7, 2019 at Trailpoint Village, South Bend. Lois was born on February 8, 1932 in South Bend to the late Dale E. Beck and Mabel (Bolt) Beck and has been a lifelong resident of this area, graduating in 1950 from John Adams High School. She also attended classes at the Elkhart Career Center.

On November 11, 1950 in South Bend she was united in marriage to Orlo Edwin Murdick, who preceded her in death on December 30, 2008. They were married for 58 years. The joy of Lois' heart was being a homemaker and raising their children, Rebecca, Thomas, and Kelly. Lois previously worked as a secretary at Bendix, and as a secretary at the Indian School, Phoenix, AZ. She also worked in Medical Records at Memorial Hospital and enjoyed working at Dunkin' Donuts. Lois was preceded in death by their grandson, Thomas Murdick, Jr.; sister, Mardelle Reynolds; and by her brothers, Haldon E. Beck and Dwight Beck.

She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca S. (Geoff DeLusignan) Murdick-Powell of South Bend; sons, Thomas G. (Darlene) Murdick and Kelly E. Murdick, both of South Bend; grandchildren, Stephanie Murdick of Ft. Wayne, Jennifer Gean of Lakeville, Kasey (Alfred) Lemmon of South Bend, Lindsay Colwell of South Bend, Nicole (Sarah) Murdick-Dorbin of Eton, GA, and Crystal Murdick of South Bend; great-grandchildren, Amber Mazzocchi, Domenick Mazzocchi, Cooper Gean, Riley Gean, Owen Lemmon, and Alfred Lemmon, III; and great-great-grandson, Liam Thomas Mazzocchi.

Funeral Services for Lois will be at 3:00 PM Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Palmer Funeral Home River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, IN 46615 where friends may gather with the family two hours prior to services. Burial will take place at Highland Cemetery, South Bend at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Harbor Light Hospice, 1820 E. Day Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Trailpoint Village Nursing Home for their compassionate care.
