Melvyn C. Edgerton, age 84, of Ocala (previously of Lake Worth) passed away 2/14/16.

Born 1/25/32 in South Bend, IN, he moved his family to Lake Worth in 1967 and became a PE teacher and the baseball coach at PBJC. He loved teaching and coaching and his students and players loved and admired him. He retired in Ocala in 1998.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Miriam. He is survived by his current wife and devoted companion, Marion Douglass of Ocala; son Richard and his wife Kathryn, granddaughter Melissa (and Eric Hicks) and great granddaughters Ella and Kayla, all of Minnesota; daughter Suzanne (and John Petersen), granddaughter Angela (and Brett Bolin) and great grandsons Austin and Jordan of West Palm Beach; and, son James of Minnesota. He is also survived by his brothers Paul (and Nancy) of Terre Haute, IN, William (and Kim) of Foley, AL and Richard of South Bend, IN and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Legacy Hospice House of Ocala. Memorial Service to be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Ocala on Monday, February 22, 2016 at 2:00.
